The 2020 list of Nutmeg Award nominees is out and I have got some reading to do.

The Nutmeg Awards are kind of awesome in that kids and teens from across Connecticut vote to pick the award winners from a short list of notable new titles. This inspires the kids and teens to read books from the list, which is a win for the kids, the writers, and the contest.
I read a lot of young adult novels and will definitely read a number of these nominees. Here is the 2020 list for High School:
American Street by Ibi Zoboi
Beartown by Fredrik Backman
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner
Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven
Long Way Down by Jason Reynolds
Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu
Radio Silence by Alice Oseman
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
I've just picked up a copy of The Cruel Prince, as I was in the mood for a bit of fantasy. Have you or your kids or students read any of these books? Any favorites on the list? Let me know which of these "high school" books you think deserve an award.
